Made it back home last night.
I made it back from Middletown NY to my home (920 miles) in 13 hours and 45 minutes on FB. I did mostly "splash and dashes", meaning I would bomb out 240 miles or so and then pull into a gas station, use my debit card to fill up FB's 7 gallon gas tank and then bomb-on down the highway.
I saw a motorcycle accident on I-81 in PA. The accident had just happened and there were no rescue or police on the scene, but there were people assisting the motorcyclist who was laying in the middle of the median. There were other motorcycles parked on the shoulder. The accident happened on the northbound side, and I was going south. I could not find any info on the accident - I hope the rider was not seriously injured - he did have a helmet on.
I also saw a black bear on the side of the road in the "State Game Lands".
It was sunny and nice - even got hot near the end across Indiana and into Illinois. I did not have any trouble bombing through the Chicago area on 80 - surprisingly.
Now I can relax and watch a little football today.

We got caught in traffic on 84 in Danbury Connecticut. Apparently there was a police shooting were an officer shot somebody on the highway. Luckily according to the officer That I spoke with, no police officers were injured.
We were lucky to get off on exit 8 and get gas and then headed through town on the George Washington Parkway to get to New York state and then back on the highway.
Here is a link to the news story about this traffic jam and police shooting.

Okay that didn't end well.
The back tire slid out in a 30mph turn. John is okay the bike is not. We have the bike towed to a harley shop here in west virginia. Ironically we are back at the same hotel we stayed in last night.
The Harley shop is not open tomorrow- John is trying to find a truck to rent to take the bike back to Peoria.
